International Students

The International Student Services Department provides guidance to international students. Staff members assist students in interpreting U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) regulations. Services include assisting visa holders with travel signatures, new I-20’s, social security and visa extensions, international student orientation, as well as other immigration matters.

The Aviator College of Aeronautical Science accepts aspiring International Students who wish to complete an Associate of Science Degree in Aeronautical Science. The Aviator Flight Training Academy accepts International Students who wish to complete a certificate program or earn specific licenses. The Degree Program will take up to a 24 months for completion. Students complete five consecutive semesters. The last two semesters contain an internship component. Interns are required to instruct a minimum of 153 hours each of the two semesters along with completing the General Education Requirements. Transfer Credit may be given for the General Education requirements and previous flight training completed. Send transcripts and copies of any current flight licenses to the Registrars Office for determination.

The English language is the universal language of the world wide airline industry. International students must provide acceptable proof of English proficiency before enrolling in the College. The TOEFL examinations or an equivalent is acceptable proof. Assistance for students who require tutoring in English is available.

  2. Submit a request of Verification of Authenticity of your license to the FAA’s Airmen Certification Branch (AFS-760). International
  3. Students coming to Aviator College under a  visa must have proof of medical insurance coverage when entering the United States, in accordance with Immigration 22 CFR 514.14(a) (published March 19, 1993.) The minimum coverage required is:
  • Medical benefits of at least $50,000.00 per accident or illness
  • Repatriation of remains in the amount of $7,500.00
    Expenses associated with medical evacuation in the amount of $10,000.00
    A deductible not to exceed $500 per accident or illness
  • Repatriation of remains in the amount of $7,500.00
    Expenses associated with medical evacuation in the amount of $10,000.00
    A deductible not to exceed $500 per accident or illness
  • As a reminder, the insurance policy should not contain any statements or clauses which preclude you, the exchange visitor, from coverage due to the nature of this program, which is flight training. Please note that the insurance requirements, as established under 22 CFR 514.14(a), must be met for each exchange visitor and accompanying spouse or dependent. You may obtain this coverage from Compass Benefits Group .
Aviator Flight College is a flight school which offers flight training and pilot training within the degree programs. The college accepts VA Post 911, Chapter 33, benefits and offers Federal loans for flight training.
